Lately I've been noticing...
This morning, while dressing, I heard the dove cooing. That haunting sound brings me instantly back to my Grandmother Dorothy. She lived in rural northwestern Minnesota. When we would go and visit her there, we would hear these doves cooing. And everytime I hear that sound, I am transported back in time.
Certain things do that. I like that. Sometimes, while at work, a Mom comes into the store with her children who remind me very much of my daughters. They bring me back in time with their shy looks like young Janel or filled with bravery towards everything in the world like young Brittany. Usually they are around 2-4 years of age. I guess this was one of my favorite times with them. Oh, good memories...
I like Spring. I enjoy seeing the birds making their nests and hearing their song. I have begun hearing them in the morning (after none over the winter) and heard them in their evening song.
They are both similar. If you listen, it is a joy.
They are both similar. If you listen, it is a joy.And then there is the greening up of the earth, it's awakening. Flowerbeds lay naked with their winter death. Vulnerable with their insides showing until new growth fills the void. Adornments once again hidden except to their designing keepers.
Lately, I've been noticing, have you?
