Storm clouds and lilly pads

These storm clouds approaching from the West were ominous to see. Janel and I didn't stay very long on the deck. We went into the celler, along with Gracie to stay safe. We only got a lot of rain and no damage. The winds can be strong on this hill. When the sky gets that scary green color, you know it could be bad. We were lucky. Others were not. I really don't like storms, there is no fairness factor or any control over the situation.

This morning I walked Gracie to the little gazebo pond area near by. She went nuts. We were there another day this week and she remembered but this time, there was a lot more water bacause of the storm. It was neat to see tadpoles swimming straight up to the surface, eating bugs and diving straight down. They were pretty huge. And I have always liked lilly pads.
I have been working on a painting of lilly pads for my bathroom. Seeing them in person should help. Some of them reminded me of the "Packman" from the Atari game of the 80's.
We will have to frequent that spot all summer. It is nice sitting inside the gazebo. There is shade and many birds are in the area. Quiet.
