Today is a great day to stay indoors just to stay away from the wind. And listen to opera. One of my favorites is Maria Callas. She has a pureness to her voice. There is just something about turning up the volume. It helps to drown out the wind and almost fights back to be heard above the roar.

I am finishing a quilt top that I started a little over a week ago. I don't feel too bad as to how long it is taking. Now I only need to keep going, to keep the momentum going. I will post a picture when the top is done. This is a great start to reducing my stash of fabric. I have a self-imposed restriction on purchasing new fabrics until I get my stash considerably reduced and under control. That is a hard one because there are so many great fabrics out there.

I really like the large prints and those that are somewhat retro in feel. Last week I received an e-mail from Amy Butler Designs. She has a new line of fabrics coming out and I always like (love) her stuff. They could be fun to work into a quilt...hmmmm. Perhaps jazz up the stuff I have on hand? No. I need to remain strong and it is so hard!

My husband, Ken leaves late today for Minneapolis. I will be joining him on Friday for the weekend. There is a lot of good shopping there. I should research where the best stores are for my favorite things to create with, i.e. paper crafts, jewelry, fabric art. Perhaps there is a new and wonderful store that I haven't been to before. And then there is Ikea and Crate & Barrel. (sigh)

Well, back to the sewing machine. And better still, the sun has come out :*)
