What is going on?

Ken and I were at a dinner last night. From our vantage we could see a terrific wind/rain storm.  We waited for it to clear up before venturing out to return home.  The resulting damage appeared this morning when I opened up my blinds. The problem was that glass scattered over the deck, into my fountain, the sand around the fountain, the grass beneath.  You get the picture!  It took me 4 hours to clean it up.  I used a shop vacuum for the deck area but had to HAND PICK each tiny fragment from the other places.  Talk about fine motor skills.

Also, from last night, we noticed an alarm going off on our refrigerator/freezer.  I just thought it was due to a power outage.  NOT.  This morning, the freezer was definitely not working.  HMMM. What is going on here?  Sometimes I don't know why so much seems to happen all at once.  I called the repair guy and he will try to work it in tomorrow if I said I would be home all day.  Of course, I will be home all day just to get this fixed.

Meanwhile, what do I do with the food that is thawing in the freezer?
