Aahh, New Years Day, 2011

Another year has started.  Where does all the time go?  It does really seam to fly by.  I don't seem to be getting as much stuff done as I remember doing before... wonder why?  Is it that certain things are not as pressing as before so the drive isn't there?  Or could it be that I feel that "I have already done that" and don't care to again, unless I have to?  Or even that things just really don't matter.  No big deal. This sounds depressing.

I really do have ideas to "improve" myself with goals, not resolutions.  Ken would say they are the same thing and perhaps they are, but I feel that the word "goal" sounds more attainable.  If I write them down and tell somebody, then I am more likely to carry them out.

So here are a couple.

  •  Read more, specifically books.  I should be able to read at least one per week so a goal of one per month is very reasonable isn't it?
  • Cook healthier with planned menus.  This should be enjoyable for me as I like cooking.  Probably the most difficult is when it is only for one when Ken has dinner meetings at night.  Got to work on it though.  We would both feel better about our weight.
  • And the last one has to do with my art.  I need to pursue it in a more business-like manner, i.e. set up an Etsy account to sell some items.  Jewelry is going to be a focus for the start.  I am currently going though my jewelry making items and sorting them out.  The $$ amount of inventory is even taking me by surprise.  So that has to happen! It is a great creative outlet and projects don't take as long as say, a quilt. (Which btw is another topic I will cover, later)

Next topic;  Sadie!
She is so sweet.  We had her spayed this week and our goal is to keep her not excited and energetic.  Yah right - a puppy - who is at times CRAZY!  Currently she is sitting in the sunshine on my studio floor.  She is cat-like in many ways.  Her stretching, bouncing, eyes.  I swear she almost purrs at times.  We certainly are enjoying her antics and her affection.

Happy New Year to you.  Here's knowing it will be a good one!
Kim
