Another use for scraps!
I took scrap strips of fabric, a glue stick, clothesline and went from this tangled mess (and very messy fingers) toThis is a top view. I used a zig-zag stitch on my sewing machine to anchor them together. It turned out very colorful and has such a nice feel in the hand. Sturdy yet soft.
I am on my basket number three! I don't know how many more I will make. The cost of materials is pretty low. One clothesline package was $3.50 at K-Mart and I went through 5 or 6 gluesticks. The fabric and thread was using what I had on hand. I can't take credit for the idea though. There is a book out titled "It's a Wrap" by Susan Breier. A friend showed me a purse that she made using this technique.
It is fun to be inspired. It is sometimes a challenge to try something new, but the rewards are worth it.
