Baking Bread
I baked bread yesterday. Made "smokies"....you know, buns with a little sausage tucked inside of them. They turned out well and tasted good.
It has been years since I tried my hand at making bread. I enjoyed the process and the results. There is something about kneading the dough until it reaches that remarkable, soft, elastic ball. And then the miracle of rising. There is something somewhat methodical in it.
Today is a very cold one. It is a good afternoon for an espresso.
The caramel flavor, the richness, and as important
I wish for sunshine and hope tomorrow will give us some. There are yellow flowers on my counter and their color is so warm. It helps to look at them and imagine the sun beaming down, warming the earth, bring Spring closer. And closer, and closer. Soon it will be here. I like color in my kitchen. I took this photo from the side of my stove and I think it shows bright and
cheerful colors that I have there. Funny, sometimes, we take them for granted and seem not to notice them for a time and then suddenly, they just pop out. We should all take time to really see things, and maybe we will get a little more enjoyment out of life.
Lately I have been reading blog posts by others and I realize that I don;t have to write a book each time. That takes a little pressure off to just jot a note down. That would be almost like a quick hello in passing. Something to think about.
Later,
Kim
